When we disappear, we tend to be up to something… Well, we’ve been up to a lot this time.
2012 saw the launch of our album, ‘Believe The Machine’, the beginnings of new video making projects and the start of a very large project that has taken up a lot of time and energy. The end result of all the hard work is making us a little creatively hyperactive, as most of the major building work for our new studio has been done.
So, have a peek at some pictures from the studio-build. Believe us, this winter has been very very cold, and very very fun… a massive learning curve with ups and downs. But, we’re almost finished now, and by this Spring we should be working again… here at the chapel.
Right, off for a well deserved cup of tea. Hope you enjoy the pics… ones of the finished studio soon to follow, and there’ll be extra pictures popping up on our Facebook page. All the love from Anneliese & Mike and the Riddler crew.
A quick announcement – we’re playing some of the new material from Believe The Machine at Christiane Kubrick’s Childwickbury Arts Fair this weekend! The Arts fair starts this Friday and runs through until Sunday (complete with some excellent evening gigs – a few tickets left for the Saturday Night), and we are playing on the Saturday afternoon at 2:30pm.
We’ve been in fairly noisy preparation there for the last couple of weeks, and we’re performing with Live Strings, Woodwind, Percussion, Synths, Drums and a fair selection of interesting toys… and though of course we say you should come and hear us, you should go to the whole event – it’s amazing and hugely inspirational.
The Charity supported by the fair this year is the British Heart Foundation, and please remember that we are also donating all of the money raised by ‘I Send You All My Love’ to the foundation as well (we’ll be busy drumming up cash on the day , hopefully with some furry red friends!).
Ad Hoc London contacted us recently prior to the launch of their new fashion campaign…. and we were more than happy to lend them our sounds. We’ve never felt so fashionable! HOT stuff… watch it, and listen out for our track ‘Bitch of a Glitch’.
Our shoot with Rosie Emerson for the CD Cover of ‘Believe The Machine’ was done yesterday. Amazing day working with some extremely talented and lovely people. Here’s a couple of sneak-preview images! This CD really is going to be a piece of Art.
Our brand spanking new album, Believe The Machine, is out next weekend. This one is going to be the digital release, but you will be able to pre-order the limited CD run at the same time (complete with cover artwork from one of our favourite artists, Rosie Emerson).
What’s it like? 14 Tracks, Electronics, Acoustics, lots of vocals, it should bring you down, pick you up, & maybe spin you round. Please, watch this space – there’s so much more to come… oh, and we’re starting our new EP next week, and getting ready for a few gigs .
As of this afternoon, the album mixing is complete, it’s all been sent off for mastering, there are artists sending in their visual creations for us (they’re wonderful people), and there are two videos almost ready for release, so keep your eyes peeled this weekend for some more announcements and perhaps a release or two.
Many more details to come soon . In the meantime, here’s a sneak preview of one of the videos.. eternal thanks to Pippa and Jamie .
As you can see from the front page, the new video for “I Send You All My Love” is out, and we’re continuing to raise money for the British Heart Foundation. If you’d like to donate, please pop over to our JustGiving page and drop them a couple of quid. If you’ve seen the video, you’ll know the general idea, and you can expect to see those costumes appearing at the Childwickbury Arts Fair, this summer, the first weekend of July.
